TIPS TO REMEMBER
- The best way to find a hazard is by looking through the workplace
- Every type of workplace is exposed to different kinds of hazards
- Work areas should have two exits clearly visible and free from obstruction
- The workplace should have adequate number of fire extinguishers properly charged, mounted and free from obstruction
- Carpets should be properly laid to avoid tripping unsuspecting employees
- Spills and wet floors should be properly cleaned
- Stairs should be properly lit, free from obstruction and handrails in good condition
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary
- Turn off all electrical equipment when not in use
- Do not use electrical equipment around water
- Always caution co-workers performing unsafe acts around you
