It is important that drinking water is safe because contaminated water can lead to an epidemic. Like I always say, no one sends their child to school to get sick, injured or die.

Drinking contaminated water could lead to  diarrhoea, vomiting.
Therefore, school management should consider this:

Water sources must be tested and periodically maintained

If water source is not suitable for drinking but suitable for other uses, it must be labelled appropriately and communicated to all including the students so they do not drink it. This can be as simple as placing a “Hand washing sign” or “Do not drink” .
If a child begins to exhibit certain symptoms, investigate and act. This might save you from an epidemic

The next time you’re in a school, pay attention to the location and appearance of water sources and share knowledge
