If you left your child with a new nanny, would you have peace of mind? Over the weekend, I shared my thoughts on an Instagram live session with a parenting community. Here is a brief summary:
a) Always recruit from professional agencies. The business of hiring and maintaining a nanny should be treated as serious business
b) Do background checks and verify references
c) Health examinations are important since they would be working with children
d) Have a documented and fair terms of engagement
e) Leverage security and safety tools like cameras. They help you keep an eye on things
f) Provide training. Do not assume. Nannies should be trained on basic first aid, fire safety, visitor management, proper housekeeping etc.
